The one to the right happens to be an 8000 particle respirator and works for more short term things, which means if you were talking a bus or something you could wear it. It works pretty well and it has a patented filter that allows you to breath in a more comfortable way and it doesn't get hot.

When it comes to the cost of this item you're not going to have to pay much. They're surprisingly cheap. A 30 pack will cost you less than twenty dollars, so there really isn't any economic reason why you can't have one around the house or anything like that. Surgical N95 Respirator

I wanted to show you a different brand that you can get, which people seem to really like. What you see to the right is a surgical mask that is made by Kimberly Clark. The claim to fame with this particular brand is that they fit really well on the face and they're quite comfortable. That means you won't have any issues wearing them for an extended period of time. Most people that end up buying these do it for some sort of emergency situation like Swine Flu or Bird Flu.

But it also has all the important N95 features that you expect from a surgical respirator mask. It is approved by the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH), so you know that it is something that is recognized for its safety. N95 Respirator Face Mask

For those of you that are looking for something a little bigger and better, you'll want to look into a face mask. I have a picture to the right of a 3M R6111 low-maintenance half-mask organic vapor respirator. It sounds pretty sophisticated, but it's really just a good filter that you wear. It's something that is much more powerful than the regular masks that I have listed above. This also happens to be NIOSH approved as well and you'll find people in certain work situations will wear this.

I wish I could show you more of these face masks, but really 3M is the only one I would ever trust. They're the ones that are putting in the time and research creating some of the best filters you'll ever have the chance of using. The point of all these masks is the ability to separate the particles that come into it as you breathe. This way you can filter off most of the bad stuff and avoid things like Swing Flu or whatever you're trying to avoid. Most of the masks that you're going to find are going to function in this manner. And that should be what you're looking for. It is going to get most of the particles and you can greatly increase your chances of avoiding some sort of problem.
